Many people assume it just a bad habit but for me; it’s more than a bad habit. It’s a deep rooted pattern of psychological conduct. That’s why it is really difficult to constrain this habit.
Though will-power is very important to have but unfortunately it doesn’t produce results in the case of nail biting. Your decisions are not enough to cope with this problem. You need adopt an effective treatment.

Generally, People apply different nail polishes. Nail polish leaves your nails taste bitter. But this method barley works. Nail biting develops in years so it can not be left just because your nails taste bad.
Visiting doctors and psychologists is a better option. In most cases, they suggest a treatment that is a combination of anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. But problem with such methods is the side effects of different medicines. These treatments can develop onychophagia in a very short period.
Another treatment called nail biting hypnosis is not only effective but doesn’t contain any side effects. In this method, you are trained to use the power of subconscious to get the cure. The process of hypnosis makes you to develop a strong link with the specific part of brain that controls your nail biting habit.
Nail biting is a stress removing habit. People usually do nail biting when they are nervous, stressed and worried. Hypnosis assists you to manage with the emotional stress.
