In a study done in 2000 at the SUNY Upstate Medical University Pediatric Pulmonary Center on kids up to 18 years of age. Patients were offered self hypnosis if they had symptoms or signs suggestive of psychological difficulties. Hypnosis was taught in one or two 15–45 minute sessions by a pediatric pulmonologist.
